Advanced Placement Program

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program offers college-level courses and exams that students can take while in high school. With qualifying AP Exam scores, students can earn credit, advanced placement, or both at universities around the world.

• The College Board's Advanced Placement Program is recognized by universities around the world as a standard of academic excellence.
• Today, students worldwide can complete university-level coursework in 40 subjects and demonstrate their proficiency by taking standardized, end-of-course AP Exams each May.

Nearly all colleges and universities in the United States, and more than 4,000 universities in over 100 countries (including the U.K., Canada, Singapore, and institutions across the Middle East), consider AP participation favorably for admission and have clear policies regarding AP credit and placement.

The AP curriculum and exams are guided and administered by our trained faculty and University Application Cell. An orientation session is held each year to guide interested learners and parents.

AP Exam Details

AP Exams are administered once a year during the first two weeks of May. Students are encouraged to register early (September to November of the academic year prior to the exam) to allow ample time for preparation. Details of the current academic year's registration windows, exam dates, and fees are shared with students and parents through school announcements.

• Regular Testing: scheduled over two weeks in May.
• Late Testing: available during the third week of May for students who are unable to take an exam on the scheduled date.

Review the AP course descriptions for the subject(s) you want to test in — each description explains which topics are covered in the AP course and what might be on the exam.

How to Register

1. Create an account on the College Board's website.
2. Refer to the registration instructions shared by the school's University Application Cell.
3. Complete online registration with the College Board and pay the exam fee to the school's exam coordinator within the stated deadlines.

Important: To take the test, both steps must be completed:

• If you register online with the College Board but do not pay the test center, you will not be able to take the test.
• If you pay the test center but do not complete online registration on the College Board account, you will not be able to take the test.

Eligibility

Students in any of the categories below are eligible to take AP Exams at an AP-authorized school or test center:

• Students actively enrolled in secondary school
• Secondary school-level students who are homeschooled, participate in independent study, or attend a virtual school
• Actively enrolled students who are prepared to take an AP Exam prior to ninth grade
• Recent secondary school graduates who require a specific AP Exam for university admission

ID Policy for Test Centers in India

Please plan any ID processing and applications well in advance. You must have an acceptable ID to present at the test site on exam day, or you will not be allowed to take the test.

• AP-authorized test centers in India accept an original, valid passport as ID for entry to the AP Exam administration.
• The ID must include a recent, recognizable photograph that clearly matches the student's appearance on test day.
• If an original, valid passport is not available, students must present Aadhaar in the original Letter format or the PVC version with hologram (both issued by UIDAI). No other formats are accepted.
• Digital or paper copies of ID proof will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Students must have a College Board account to register and take digital exams. Always create or update your College Board account using your legal first name and legal last name exactly as they appear on the passport or ID you will present at the test center.

Digital AP Exam Policies

• Students must bring their own approved testing device to the test center on exam day; otherwise, they will not be able to take the test.

• Download the Bluebook app on your approved testing device before exam day.
• Practice exams are available within Bluebook for students to familiarize themselves with the format.

Testing Policies

• You may take any or all of the four Physics exams in the same year.
• You cannot retake an exam in the same year, but you may retake it in a subsequent year.
• You cannot take both Calculus AB and Calculus BC in the same year.
• You cannot take two exams scheduled on the same date and time. Choose which exam you wish to take first, and then take the other during the next available testing window.

Student Acknowledgements

Before registering, students acknowledge that they meet at least one of the eligibility categories above and that they have read and agree to the test center policies regarding ID requirements, payment deadlines and instructions, refunds, cancellations, and digital testing.
